Comments:
Phone did not appear to support SyncML over Bluetooth. Ran "sdptool search --bdaddr macaddress SYNCML"; returned no result. Phone pairs with computer over bluetooth no issue.
I previously synced Treo 755p ubuntu 10.04 LTS and palm conduit no issue. Trying to avoid sending all data to google cloud. Tested December 22nd, 2010

Avoiding Google on Android
I would love to see SyncEvolution working on Android. Unfortunately, there's a whole heap of challenges. Android doesn't natively create any "calendars", they're created by the sync conduits as far as I can figure out. I've found the way to avoid pushing my data to Google is to push it to somebody else instead with Funambol Sync. I could even run my own Funambol server instance if I was sufficiently motivated, but I've chosen one of the free providers, mobiso.com.
